National Accounts Director
National Accounts Director, General Contractors
Meridian Group Partners has been engaged by our client to conduct a confidential search for a National Accounts Director, General Contractors.
Our client is a Fortune 500 company and a recognized leader in steel and construction reinforcement products and solutions. With operations spanning recycling centers, fabrication facilities, steel mills, and offices throughout the United States and beyond, the company combines the scale of a global organization with a strong commitment to innovation, sustainability, customer service, and the people who drive its success.
The National Accounts Director, General Contractors will play a critical role in our client's continued evolution toward a more strategic, enterprise-level approach to customer relationships and early-stage project engagement.
This is an opportunity for a commercially oriented executive to build and deepen relationships with some of the nation's leading General Contractors, identify significant construction opportunities earlier in the development cycle, and connect customers with our client's broad portfolio of products, services, technical capabilities, and project solutions.
The Opportunity
The National Accounts Director will serve as the primary strategic relationship leader for a portfolio of key General Contractor accounts involved in major construction projects across the United States.
Rather than focusing solely on transactional sales, this individual will work to establish our client as a strategic partner to its customers—engaging earlier in the project lifecycle, understanding customer priorities and project pipelines, and bringing the appropriate resources to the table at the right time.
The role will work across commercial, operational, technical, and business leadership teams to create a coordinated customer experience and identify opportunities where our client can provide broader value through its multiple product and service offerings.
The position reports directly to the Vice President of Commercial Growth & Development and will have significant visibility across the organization.

- Connect customer requirements with the company's capabilities across reinforcing steel, fabrication, accessories, construction services, and related offerings.
- Engage commercial, operations, technical, and business leaders early to determine the appropriate strategy and resources for each opportunity.
- Participate in project-shaping discussions where our client can differentiate itself through constructability, schedule certainty, supply assurance, technical expertise, product bundling, or simplified coordination.
Enterprise Growth & Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Identify opportunities to expand our client's relationships with strategic accounts across products, services, and business lines.
- Facilitate collaboration across the organization to reduce friction and provide customers with a more integrated solution.
- Translate customer and market intelligence into actionable insights for commercial and growth strategies.
- Partner with Technical Services and other internal teams on customer education, value engineering, scope clarification, and project-specific solutions.

- Monitor customer engagement and satisfaction and develop strategies to strengthen relationships and increase future project opportunities.
- Maintain accurate account and project information through Salesforce and other company systems.
Operational & Field Engagement
- Maintain a strong presence with customers, company facilities, and project-related stakeholders.
- Travel extensively throughout the United States to meet with customers, visit fabrication and operational locations, and support strategic projects.
- Participate in project reviews and help facilitate resolution of issues affecting customer relationships or project execution.
- Serve as a visible representative of our client with strategic customers and industry partners.
